The second leading scorer in Memphis high
school basketball last season, Lewis Jones, has signed a letter of
intent to play for the Purple Aces next season. A versatile center,
Jones will will become a swing player with Evansville. Jones can score
inside or step out and shoot the three, and is no stranger to hard work. "He'll
keep improving like he always did because he always worked at
it. He was the first kid in the gym and the last one to leave," says
high school coach Stevenson Bratcher.
Jones chose the Aces over
Tennessee Tech and Southeast Missouri because of the players. "The
first thing I liked were the players. They made me feel right at
home. I'm going to work hard to do whatever Coach (Simmons) wants me
to do." |
